Biocompatible fillings (composite)
Dental practice Gina uses a filling material, namely Admira Fusion, from the German manufacturer VOCO GmbH. With Admira Fusion, VOCO has presented the world's first purely ceramic filling material.
Classical monomers
Admira Fusion does not contain classic monomers such as BISGMA, TEGDMA and HEMA. In traditional filling materials, these monomers are released when cured with light (the well-known blue LED light). Decomposition products of BISGMA are bisphenol-A and BIS-DMA. These leaking components are harmful to the body. In daily life, we consciously and unconsciously come into contact with bisphenol-A. Think of food that is in packaged plastic materials.
The benefits for our patients:
1. Admira Fusion is the world's first purely ceramic-based filling material;
2. Admira Fusion is as described free of classical monomers. It is therefore a biologically compatible (white) filling. This reduces allergy potential compared to conventional composite fillings;
3. In addition, it has a low shrinkage percentage thanks to the innovative “pure silicate technology”. This limits problems such as a leaking filling or cracks in the tooth enamel;
4. Perfect aesthetics due to colour stability and a high degree of biocompatibility. This gives a particularly natural appearance;
