Remove amalgam

In our practice we do not place amalgam or silver fillings. In fact, we specialize in the safe removal of amalgam.

Should you replace amalgam ("silver") fillings or not?

We are very experienced in removing amalgam in a safe and proper manner and are even specialized in this. Many of our patients have experienced positive changes as a result of having their amalgam fillings removed, such as fewer headaches and migraines.

In our practice we do not place amalgam or silver fillings. In fact, we specialize in the safe removal of amalgam.

What are amalgam fillings? They are silver-colored fillings, consisting of a mix of approximately 50% mercury, 22 – 32% silver, 14% tin and sometimes 8% copper. This mix is called amalgam.

What is mercury?

Mercury is a metal that consists of a silver-colored liquid. Mercury evaporates at room temperature and then gives off a very toxic vapor. Mercury is toxic in all forms. In the past, if a mercury thermometer broke in a hospital, the entire department would be closed until the room was treated by a special cleaning team.

Why replace existing amalgam fillings?

There are still people who say that amalgam is safe, but dentist Gina has spent years researching the safety of amalgam and has come to the conclusion that it is not safe. Amalgam fillings constantly release a very small amount of mercury vapor, but every time someone drinks a hot drink, for example, much larger amounts of mercury vapor are released and this vapor can be inhaled by the person.

Mercury is highly toxic and can have a negative effect on the nervous system and other organs. It is one of the most toxic heavy metals.
